Meet Our Team
Matthew P. Hytrek
Before starting Oliver & Hytrek Law, Matt worked as an insurance defense attorney for reputable nationwide firms where he learned transferrable litigation skills and tactics. He now uses those legal strategies and tactics to the advantage of his clients.
He earned his Juris Doctorate from Whittier Law School and graduated magna cum laude. While in law school, he was Editor in Chief of Whittier Law Review and acted as a member of the Board of Whittier Moot Court. He earned a CALI award in Arbitration and was also published in the Whittier Law Review for his article, “Property Rights in Current Space Law: A Hindrance to Space Exploration.”
Matt was born and raised in Nebraska, where he attended Nebraska Wesleyan University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Matt is barred in California and the United States District Courts of California Southern and Central Districts.
Cory A. Oliver
Prior to forming Oliver & Hytrek Law, Cory worked for two insurance defense firms that represented multiple insurance carriers. Here he learned the myriad of tactics and strategies employed by insurance companies to undervalue and undermine rightful personal injury claims. Now Cory uses this knowledge to fight for his clients.
Cory graduated with his Juris Doctorate from Loyola Law School after transferring from Whittier Law School. While at Whittier Law School, Cory participated in the Law Review, Moot Court Honors Board, and received the Best Oral Advocate Award. Cory excelled in the classroom and received multiple CALI Excellence for the Future Awards. He received his undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice from California State University, Fullerton.
Cory previously worked as a judicial extern for the Honorable Theodor C. Albert, U.S. Bankruptcy Court. He also gained valuable experience working with U.S. Air Force JAG, Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. Prior to law school, Cory worked for the Orange County Sheriff’s Department.

Prior to joining Oliver & Hytrek, LLP, Jill worked as an estate planning paralegal since 2009. Jill began her paralegal education at George Washington University in 1992. Since that time, she has worked as a paralegal in Florida, Texas, Washington, Maryland, and California. She has experience in multiple areas of law including estate planning, probate, personal injury, criminal defense, bankruptcy, and worker’s compensation.
